Mister Joshooa

Represented in North & South America

Joshua Guerin aka Mister Joshooa is…

With a music career spanning over two decades, Mister has worn a number of hats, and worn them well. There are very few artists who have had such a substantial impact on their city’s music industry. While he was learning the ropes as a DJ, Mister landed a job at TV Lounge, and over the years he formed a formidable partnership with club owner Ivory “Tree” Graves. With Tree’s guidance and support, Guerin saw TV Lounge through its infancy and has since become the cornerstone that the world-class electronic music destination was built upon. He worked his way up the ranks and is currently both the general manager and music director.

Mister’s sound is impossible to classify and deeply influenced by his love of vinyl. Throughout his career he has witnessed a number of changes; he lived through the laptop era, skipped over the CDJ trend entirely and has always stayed true to his vinyl roots. His penchant for wax allows his sound to continually evolve, creating something beautiful, something inspiring, and maybe even a little creepy, depending on who you ask. Regardless of the genre, Mister’s musical expertise is tangible.
His ear for sound and eye for production create a fierce combination and his multifaceted performances allow listeners to turn off their brains and tune into their feelings. Feelings, remember those?

Mister Joshooa has worked with a number of local and international labels alike. He has released solo projects and collabs with 20|20 Vision, Planet E, Life and Death, Info Lines, Cryovac, Moteur Ville Musique, Mule Musiq and Party Store Records, just to name a few. Inspired by his love for vinyl and deep respect for music and production, he launched his own label, My Baby, in 2016 with Eric Ricker of Ataxia.

Mister’s success was earned through hard work and dedication to his craft, and he built his skills by asking the right questions and surrounding himself with those he could learn from. He has poured his literal blood, sweat and tears into the music industry in Detroit and beyond. His dedication to his craft and earnest pursuit in molding the next generation of artists plays an instrumental role in ensuring that the music in Detroit and beyond lives on with the integrity and dignity it deserves.
